When I first discovered EFT Tapping, I used it on my own for a long time. Eventually, I decided to invest in 1-to-1 sessions, and here I share my experience of what that was like.
I am a Practitioner, but also a client - here I share the benefits I experienced (and that I now offer to others too!)
One of the things I love most about EFT Tapping is how self-sufficient it is as a method. You can absolutely use it on your own - and I did. For years. And still do, to be completely honest.
But after a while of tapping on my own, I was ready to invest in myself and decided to work with a private practitioner.
So, what changed when I started working with my practitioner?
New perspectives
My practitioner asked questions I hadn't really thought about before. As Les Brown famously said, “You don't see the picture when you are in the frame.”
Through her thought-provoking questions, I was able to explore new perspectives that might have taken me much longer to discover on my own.
Much deeper work
I felt I was going much, much deeper than when I worked on my own. After all, someone else was there, inviting and guiding me to explore areas of my mind that I hadn't fully uncovered before.
Our minds are clever at protecting us, too. Having someone there to ask the right questions or to just replay what we said can help us gently access deeper layers that we might not reach on our own.
Spotting the blind spots
They're called blind spots for a reason, right? It was incredible to see them gradually come into view as we progressed with Tapping.
Sometimes, they were true lightbulb moments. Suddenly, something that seemed completely disconnected made so much sense.
An understanding of the web of things happening beneath the surface, linking thoughts, feelings and experiences in ways I had not considered before.
I find it so interesting how a topic reveals itself. We may start talking about something, let’s say money - but then I’d realise that it might not have much to do with money at all. There is so much more underneath it.
As I recognised these spots, instead of judging or resisting, this process helped me feel more compassion for myself. It also made me feel empowered, as I found more space and choice - this understanding meant I could choose how to respond, rather than automatically falling into the same patterns.
Speaking aloud helps
Sometimes, simply saying things out loud to another person helps me understand what I'm feeling. It's one thing to think about something on your own, but quite another to put it into words and explain it to someone else.
There's also something valuable about bouncing ideas and thoughts off another person. You're not just talking to yourself; there's an interaction. They might ask a question, reflect something back to you, or rephrase what you've said in a slightly different way.
Because, of course, there are two minds working together. My practitioner's perspective helped me notice things I hadn't seen myself, including those blind spots and unexpected connections. And she did this gently, allowing me to arrive at my own realisations.
And sometimes, that's all it takes for something to click. You hear it and think, “Oh! Oh, yeah.” And suddenly, something that wasn't quite clear before makes complete sense.
Presence
When you have someone else there to interact with, something shifts. Your brain starts working differently. You might find yourself being more honest, or explaining things in a way that helps you get closer to what you really feel.
And that's what makes this such a beautiful space to have. A space where I could let things out, explore what's going on inside, and feel the difference that human connection can make.
Because even when it's online, there's still a real person there with you. Someone who's actively listening, genuinely paying attention, and giving you the time and space to work through whatever you need to bring to the session.
Sometimes, there's something powerful about simply having another human being there with you. Even through a screen, that connection is real.
NOW - I offer the same to others
Energy flows through connection, and there's something beautiful about that. When two people connect and you feel able to be completely open and honest, without fear of judgment, you can release things that you've been holding inside.
Because sometimes, there are things you can't even bring yourself to say when you're alone. You might not want to go there, or even admit something to yourself.
And that's where having someone alongside you can make a difference. You start talking about one thing, and through the tapping and the conversation, you begin to uncover something else underneath it. You make connections you hadn't seen before, and find yourself reaching places you might not have reached on your own. And then, you create space, detach and release.
Having experienced this myself, it's something I now feel privileged to offer to others.
What I offer
Having experienced all of this myself, I know how valuable it can be to have someone alongside you as you work through things. And that's what I love to offer you.
A space where you can show up as you are, with whatever you're feeling or going through. You don't need to have it all figured out, know exactly what you want to work on, or even know how to put things into words. We can start wherever you are.
I'll be there to listen, to offer thoughtful prompts, and to help you explore what's going on beneath the surface. Sometimes we'll follow one thread and discover something unexpected along the way. Sometimes, a new perspective or a connection you hadn't noticed before can open up a whole new way of looking at things.
And through it all, we'll use EFT Tapping to help you process what comes up, at your own pace. There's no judgement, no pressure to get anywhere in particular, and no need to have the right answers.
You don't have to figure everything out on your own. Sometimes, having someone there with you can make all the difference.
